Last year for Helloween and Carnival, my son was Blue and Green from Rainbow Friends. This year, he wanted to be a smiling critter from Catnap and chose the purple Halloween costume:
It’s a whole-body polyester costume including gloves and socks, and with a separate mask that’s pulled over the head like a hat with a scarf. There’s a little zipper so boys don’t have to take off the whole costume to go pee (but for girls, it must be more difficult since they have to take the upper half off). We took size S, and it perfectly fit a 6 to 7-year-old. If it’s cold outside and you want your kid to wear more clothes underneath, pick a size up.
We like that it contains enough “horror” to please little grade schoolers but not enough to frighten any little kids. The child can see okay through the eye holes when moving about. I would have preferred it without socks and gloves that you cannot take off separately. When the kid tries to use a touch screen, it won’t work with the gloves on, and eating also becomes more troublesome. The colors are great, though, and the kid loves this costume.
If you have a Catnap fan in your family, this costume might just be right for this year’s Halloween party!
