What’s it like to build a snowman with children?
Red cheeks and nose, thick snowsuit, snow boots, and warm gloves — it’s that time of the year where kids and parents enjoy sledding and building a snowman together! The snow has to have just the right consistency (not powdery and light, but sticky and moist) to form the head and the two bigger balls for the bottom. In Aunty’s big backyard, right before the henhouse, we built Frosty the Snowman, complete with a silver bucket for a hat, coal for eyes, and a twig for a mouth. Just look at him!
We rolled and rolled the balls until the grass appeared under the snow. At least, Frosty became really big and had the friendliest grin.
Alas, our Frosty the Snowman didn’t fare very well, because it got warmer and the snow was slowly melting… At first, he had a little broom to lean on. But a few days later, Frosty bent backwards, and soon, there was only half of him left 😉
